# How credits are consumed across Pressmaster features

> Credits are Pressmaster's AI usage currency, learn how they are consumed per feature, how rollover works, and how to top up when you need more.

Credits are Pressmaster's usage currency for every AI-powered action on the platform. Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance, and credits are only ever deducted for successful AI output, errors, retries, and clarifications never cost you credits.

## What credits cover

Credits are consumed by any action that requires AI reasoning or generation:

* Writing, editing, and repurposing content
* Content planning and ideation
* Trend analysis and hook simulations
* Agent-based reasoning and coordination (Agent Team)
* Twin usage, training, and chat

All non-AI features, browsing the dashboard, managing integrations, scheduling posts, are always unlimited and never consume credits.

## Credit consumption by feature

Credit usage is approximate and varies with content length and complexity.

**Content creation**

## Agent Studio credit behavior

Agent Studio is a coordinated multi-agent system, not a single action. Each run bundles ideation generation, agent chat and reasoning, and content calendar planning across a chosen time horizon. This is why it consumes more credits than single-step features — a 30-day content calendar uses significantly more credits than a 7-day plan. Choose the planning scope that matches your current need to manage credit usage efficiently.

## Features with dynamic credit usage

Some features scale their credit draw based on the depth or size of the output:

## Credit allowances by plan

Each plan includes a fixed monthly credit allowance. Credits reset on your billing date each month.

## Rollover

Unused credits roll over for one additional month, up to a maximum of 2× your plan's monthly allowance. On the Pro plan, for example, you can carry a maximum of 36,000 credits into any given month. Credits beyond the 2× cap do not accumulate further.

## Top-ups

If you need more credits during a billing cycle, you can purchase additional credit packs at any time. Top-ups are optional and designed for:

* Temporary spikes in activity
* Heavy campaign periods
* Agency or team workflows with elevated volume

Enable **auto top-up** in your billing settings to prevent your credits from running out mid-project. You can set a monthly cap to stay in control of your spend.

## Checking your credit balance

Your remaining credits are always visible in your dashboard. You do not need to navigate to a separate page, the balance updates in real time after each AI action.
