# How Pressmaster credits work and when they're used

> Credits are the usage currency for AI actions in Pressmaster, covering writing, editing, trend analysis, and agent reasoning, with monthly rollover built in.

Credits represent AI work done on your behalf. Every time Pressmaster writes, edits, repurposes, plans, analyzes trends, or runs agent reasoning, it draws from your credit balance. You never deal with tokens, compute costs, or technical limits, credits abstract all of that into one simple, predictable unit.

## What credits cover

Credits are used for any action that involves AI:

* Writing, editing, and repurposing content
* Content planning and ideation
* Trend analysis and hook simulations
* Agent-based reasoning and coordination (Agent Team)

Non-AI features, like browsing the dashboard, managing integrations, or scheduling posts, are always unlimited and never consume credits.

## Credit consumption by action

Credit usage is approximate and may vary slightly based on content length and complexity.

**Content creation**

Some features scale based on output depth. Agent Studio consumes more credits than single-step actions because it bundles ideation, agent reasoning, and content calendar planning across time horizons. Agent topic discovery and content calendars scale with research depth and planning scope. Twin training scales with the size of the training batch.

## Credits per plan

Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance:

## Rollover

Credits reset on your monthly billing date. Unused credits roll over for one additional month, up to a maximum of 2× your plan's monthly allowance. For example, on the Pro plan, you can carry a maximum of 36,000 credits into any given month.

## Top-ups

If you need more credits mid-cycle, you can purchase a top-up at any time. Top-ups are optional and are designed for heavy campaign periods, temporary spikes in activity, or larger agency and team workflows. You can also enable auto top-up to prevent interruptions, with a monthly cap to stay in control of spend.
