How to submit a press release

1

Create your press release

From + Create, select Instant Creation and choose Press Release as your content type. Use the AI editor to generate your release via Quick mode or a guided interview. Press releases must be written in third-person — this is a strict distribution requirement.
2

Add images or videos (optional but recommended)

Add visuals to make your release more engaging and increase pick-up rates. Choose from the stock gallery or upload your own images and videos.
3

Add media contact information

Fill out the media contact section with a name and email address. This is required by publishers and magazines for verification and follow-up.
4

Review against distribution guidelines

Check your press release against the guidelines below before submitting. Releases that don’t meet the standards will be rejected, which delays distribution.
5

Set your release date

Choose Instant Publishing to distribute immediately, or set a specific date and time to schedule your release.
6

Select your distribution package and submit

Go to Publish > Press Distribution Marketplace. Select your distribution package and any add-ons (guaranteed Business Insider placement, AP News, or international distribution for UK, Asia, or Australia). Complete payment and submit.

Distribution guidelines

Your press release must meet the following standards to be accepted:
  • Must be newsworthy — product launches, funding rounds, partnerships, company milestones, or awards qualify; purely promotional content does not
  • Recommended length: 300–600 words — up to 1,600 words accepted if the content remains relevant
  • No promotional or sales language — avoid phrases like “FREE”, “Don’t miss this!”, or anything that reads like an advertisement
  • Must be written in third-person — first-person and second-person narratives are not accepted
  • Must include factual, verifiable information — unsubstantiated claims or financial promises are prohibited
  • Complete media contact required — include a verifiable name and email address
  • No prohibited content — personal attacks, defamatory content, or deceptive content are automatically disqualified

After distribution

  • A distribution report is available in your dashboard within 24 hours (Monday–Friday) after your release goes out
  • The report includes links to every syndication placement
  • You receive an email notification when the report is ready
